Dan brings a passion for creative and aggressive advocacy to the practice of law, making him a highly successful trial lawyer.  In recent years he has represented plaintiffs bringing a broad range of civil rights and other claims, including those arising from police and jail misconduct, actions for First Amendment violations, claims against schools and universities, employment disputes and insurance disputes.  Through this work, Dan is able to vindicate the rights of people who have been treated unjustly by government actors and other institutions.

Dan also represents individuals and businesses in a broad range of commercial disputes. In recent years this work has included contract disputes, financial fraud, non-competition disputes, and disputes focused on the natural foods industry, among other types of cases.

Helping people thrive has been the hallmark of Dan’s career. After receiving a Masters Degree in Public Policy from the University of Rochester, he began his career at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, DC, working on social welfare and community development programs. He later attended law school at Georgetown on a public interest law scholarship.
